Messages you send me

When you use the form, I receive your name, your email address, anything optional you add (phone, business name, the site you picked), your message and the page you sent it from. To stop floods of spam, the server also keeps a one way scrambled version of your network address and your browser's name. Your message is saved on my server and sent to my inbox through Google's email service. I use it only to reply to you. I keep it so I can follow up, and I delete it if you ask.

Your saved shelf and recent volumes

Bookmarked and recently opened website identifiers, plus your atmosphere preference, are kept in this browser’s local storage. They are not attached to an account or sent to the server. Removing a bookmark removes it from your saved shelf. Clear recent history in the reading-trails folio to remove the recent list, or clear this site’s browser data to remove all these preferences. No personal contact information is stored there. Optional room sound starts only when you turn it on; it uses no microphone or external audio service.

Visit statistics

Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics load only if you choose Allow analytics. Tag Manager delivers this site’s Analytics configuration; it does not add advertising tags. It measures visits, website previews and saved inquiry confirmations, without recording what you type into the form. Advertising features stay off. Keep analytics off to browse without these requests. A Global Privacy Control signal keeps analytics off even if a previous choice allowed it. You can change your choice using Privacy choices in the footer. Your choice is stored in this browser for up to 180 days; withdrawing it stops further events and clears this site's Analytics cookies.

Server logs

Like most web servers, mine writes a log line for each request: the network address, time, page, browser name and the page you came from. I use these logs for security and traffic reports. They are kept for about thirty days.

The websites in the library

Each work is a separate website at its own address. The moving pictures in the frames are recordings the server makes of those sites, so watching them does not visit anything. When you step up to a frame and open the live view, the real website loads inside the library from its own address, exactly as if you had gone there yourself, and that site's own privacy notice applies to it. Some demos show Google ads elsewhere; they are switched off when a demo is shown inside the library. If a business shown here is yours and you would like it taken down, email me and I will remove it.

What I do not do

I do not sell or rent your information, this site shows no ads, and I do not add you to any mailing list.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
